PMB W-100

The PMB W-100 is one of the machines in the finishing line of VDL PMB. It is used to wrap a finished product. The machine can either be an independent unit or be synchronously coupled to other finishing machines of the VDL PMB line. The W-100 makes sure each product is perfectly overwrapped within a thin sheet of wood, ordinary paper, metalized paper or all kinds of other material at a speed of 120 CPM.

Introduction PMB W-100

The PMB W-100 is one of the machines in the PMB 100 system. It can either be an independent unit or be synchronously coupled to a film wrapping machine (C-100), an ordinary or a rollband banding machine (S-100) and/or a tipper (TP-100).

Its speed is continuously adjustable up to an output of 120 cigars (or similar products) per minute.

The cigars will have to be put down by hand or brought forward from a special feeder (e.g. type JL-100) onto the feed belt of the machine. From there they are taken one by one into the wrapping device and a thin sheet of e.g. cedar wood will be put around the cigar, travelling sideways so that the wrapper is not damaged. A holt-melt glue holds the overlap. After that they slide over a plate in order  to dry the glue  to the packing table.

Although the first unit was designed to work with cedar wood, all kinds of other materials, such as ordinary paper or metallized paper, can be used as well.
